Gregarious
Not that he loves being the center of attention, but he enjoys being around others. He loves having friends and being with them, but there are moments when he needs to be alone. For that, he usually wanders around the place where he was found, a small clearing with a slowly growing sapling in it (for which he was named). It often makes him wonder where he came from. He's a huge, goofy dork and he knows it.

Fun-Loving
Literally. Whether it's joke or story sharing, adventuring, hanging out, training, play fighting (even at his age)... he's up for anything fun. He also likes to make others laugh and will usually do anything in order to accomplish that. That being said, his ideas for fun things to do aren't always the best, and he tends to fall under the "leap-before-you-think" category.

Stubborn
When he believes something, he stands his ground and defends it to the end. This applies especially to choices between right or wrong or defending his friends and family, but it can also extend to his own personal wants and beliefs. He can easily get defensive when someone disagrees with him or tries to shut him down, often taking it as a personal offense without really thinking.

Competitive
He loves a challenge, and it's recommended that if you don't actually want him to try the thing you're challenging him to do, then just don't say it. He's constantly searching for new challenges and new rivals. He refuses to back down once he's started, and may be a little overconfident in himself. But it all comes from a good place, even if it doesn't really seem that way.

Loyal
Saplingheart is a loyal-to-the-end, never-lets-you-go, always-by-your-side kind of tom. This may stem from his true heart or his abandonment, but either way once you've made friends with him, he'll be your friend forever. He'll never leave someone he cares about behind, and he will always stand beside them when they need it. And if you've done something to cross on of them, you can guarentee that he will not like you.

Distant
This isn't something generally known to most other cats, but Saplingheart has come to feel rather distant from his adoptive family. He sometimes feels as though he was taken in simply to replace Barleyleap's lost son, and as such doesn't feel like he really belongs. He tries not to dwell on it, as it makes him feel really sad, but it comes up now and again. It makes him wish he knew about his real family.

Barleyleap: My mother - she adopted me when I was a kit. She was such a wonderful mother to have... I'm so glad for the time I got with her, and for what she gave me. I... I miss her already.

Kestrelflight: My sister. She's always really outgoing, like me. We haven't spent much time together as of late. She and Mossfire were always closer, I suppose.
Mossfire: My other sister. I can't believe what's happened to her recently... It's completely unfair. She's the sweetest cat I know, except for Timidbreeze. She doesn't deserve to go through something like this.
Harekit: My sisters' brother. I know I can't really replace him, for them or my mother and father. At least now Barleyleap can be with him again. Maybe he was what she always needed.

- He was sort of a random make. Surprisingly, he looks a lot like Barleyleap, which is purely coincidence. I sometimes wonder why I didn't just make him her natural son, but the adopted thing opens the way for more interesting stuff to occur with him...
- He was originally based on Yogscast Martyn, because why not. This has changed completely now, as I'm trying to make him my own again, which is proving to be extremely difficult. He is still voiced by Martyn, however.
- Yes, he is friends with a sapling; his sapling. Funnily enough, it was dying when he was found, and now it's alive.
- He can climb trees, having developed a way to do so without falling, but he can only move slowly and as such he usually only stays in one place. He can't use tree for fighting or hunting.
